ARI demonstrates Driving Simulator at Auto Expo 2006

New Delhi based simulation and information technology company ARI (Applied Research International) demonstrates the use of its Simulation Platform for Driver training at the 8th Auto Expo 2006.

ARI simulation solutions have been one of the key drivers of simulation in the global transportation arena for several years now. Innovation is the key driving force at ARI which makes it the only company in India which has indigenously developed more than 20 world class simulation and IT products for global enterprises. ARI has carried out many simulator installations, ranging from full-mission to desktop solutions, in India and in countries like Croatia, Greece, Romania, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Philippines, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan. ARI  simulators  were  awarded  the

Seatrade Dubai International Maritime Award 2005 for the innovative use of advanced technology. ARI was also awarded the Lloyd's List award for Innovation in education and training in 2005.

ABOUT THE PRODUCT

The exponential growth witnessed in the automotive vehicle population in recent times has made driver training extremely important in India. A Simulator based training environment provides the best and cost effective solution for training drivers across a range of vehicles, driving & environmental conditions and emergency situations. ARI driving simulators help propagate safe driving techniques and assist in improving driver skills, reducing accidents, saving lives, increasing fuel economy and saving costs.

The ARI Driving Simulation Platform comprises a suite of modular solutions for training and assessment in all aspects of driving. The Platform supports the simulation of any type of vehicle ranging from passenger cars and light vehicles, to heavy vehicles, defence vehicles, and custom developed special purpose vehicles.

As the simulation platform is completely indigenously developed, ARI has complete control over flexibly recreating the environment and the constraints so unique to India . Indian roads, Indian cars, Indian traffic conditions – all these can be customized in an extremely cost-effective manner.

The simulations offer a fully interactive, immersive, flexible and non destructive training environment to train & assess drivers, both novice and experienced, on basic to special tasks to develop safe and efficient driving skills. With realistic visuals, motion, and sound cues these simulators represent the next generation of driver training for training schools, research establishments, automobile manufacturers and dealers, etc.

The ARI Driving Simulation Platform is highly scalable and can be used with Kit type personal trainers or a multiple PC instructor controlled solution and can scale up to a full mission solution comprising a vehicle cab with actual vehicle controls resting on a motion base with multiple visual views in an immersive 270 or 360 degree environment.

The solutions can be extended to include biometric tools for better psycho-motor evaluation of trainees. The simulators integrate all the necessary hardware and software modules, visual systems and resources, and a fully functional driver seating mechanism with steering wheel, pedals and instrumentation console to provide a near “life-like” driving experience.

The key advantages of ARI's Driving Simulation Platform vis-à-vis competition:

•  The ARI Driving Simulation Platform is scalable across a range of configurations.
•  It can be customized for any type of vehicle.
•  It can be customized to suit Indian conditions.
•  It can be customized to suit individual training requirements.
•  These customizations can be done in an extremely cost-effective manner.
•  ARI is best geared to serve the Indian market

Over the years, ARI has effectively demonstrated the use of simulation for training across a wide range of applications – from handling hazardous chemicals, cryogenic fluids, to navigating ships and operating cranes. And as a natural extension, ARI would now like to demonstrate this capability for Indian road systems.

ARI is an ISO 9001:2000 certified knowledge centric organization with offices in New Delhi, New Mumbai and New York . ARI employs more than 300 skilled associates with alumni from IITs, IIMs, London Guildhall, MIT and Stanford University. These associates work on deploying simulation, IT, e-business, human capital management, education and learning solutions to clients in India and abroad. ARI's growing list of clients includes Training Institutes, leading names in Maritime Industry, Government Agencies, Defence Establishments and now Automobile companies.

ARI Simulators are globally recognized as ‘Best of Breed' for their accurate and immersive simulated environments. ARI simulators are manufactured by leveraging hardware-software expertise, process and manufacturing resources, global design talent, and deep domain knowledge. Their sophisticated math and physics models accurately simulate behaviour and provide superb immersive visual environments.
