ARI set to install Three Full Mission Ship Maneuvering Simulators for The Indian Navy.

Innovation is the key driving force at ARI which makes it the only company in India which has indigenously developed more than 25 world class simulators and IT products for the maritime enterprises. ARI simulators are not only world class in visualization and behavioral realism but also are very cost effective and are backed up by excellent support and maintenance plans.

Recognizing these qualities, The Indian Navy has ordered a set of three Full Mission Ship Maneuvering Simulators from ARI. These Simulators will be used for Naval Training Facilities at 3 Naval Commands in Mumbai, Cochin and Vishakhapatnam.

ARI’s association with The Indian Navy is increasing after the successful installation and robust performance of GMDSS and RADAR/ARPA Simulators deployed by ARI at INS Venduruthy, Kochi. With the highly successful installation of these two simulator types, it was inevitable that The Indian Navy will have tremendous faith in ARI’s products and capabilities. Nevertheless, Navy’s selection of ARI as the supplier for Ship Maneuvering Simulators happened in the face of stiff international competition following a global tender.

Technical evaluation of all simulators and systems was carried out under rigorous quality and performance specifications as per MIL standards. Eventually it was the existence of high levels of quality in development and installation of the simulators coupled with customized options in ARI Simulators that convinced The Indian Navy in favour of Applied Research International. Apart from the development and deployment of these simulators, ARI will also be providing The Indian Navy with maintenance and platform support for next 10 years. ARI has proved its capabilities as a total solution provider in the simulation arena and the installation of these of Full Mission Ship Maneuvering Simulators would raise the bar on the naval simulator training scenario in the Indian Sub-continent.

ARI Full Mission Ship Maneuvering Simulators for The Indian Navy will carry a large number of additional features unique only to the Naval Ships. The simulator will cater to the ship handling characteristics of a wide variety of Naval Ships like Destroyers, Frigates, Missile Ships and Off Shore Patrol Vessels etc. The Bridge Equipment, specific to naval vessels, is to be ergonomically arranged in a manner to provide the look and feel of a Naval Ship in motion. The Simulated own vessel will be equipped with twin screw propellers. More customizations specific to the needs of the Naval Ships will also be incorporated. The 270 degree field of view display will provide a total immersive environment to provide hands on simulator training to Naval Personnel.

These installations point towards a trend of growing usage and advantages of simulator training for naval personnel. Applied Research International (ARI), New Delhi is contributing towards making India proud by way of totally indigenous development of these world class simulators. ARI offers an entire gamut of Simulators for the Marine Enterprises with portfolio of Navigation and Ship Handling Simulators, Engine Room and Propulsion Simulators, Liquid Cargo Handling Simulators (Crude Oil, Product, LPG, LNG, Chemical), GMDSS, Advanced Gantry Crane Simulators, Driving Simulators and more. These simulators are available in wide range of configurations starting from Desk Top Simulators to Kit Based Trainers and finally graduating to high-end Full Mission Simulators and Integrated Simulation Solutions.

ARI has been one of the prime movers of simulation in the global arena for several years now. Apart from being totally indigenously developed, ARI’s Simulation Products are recognized as ‘best of breed’ for their robustness, behavioral accuracy and unmatched visualizations. ARI simulators are manufactured by leveraging software- hardware expertise, deep domain knowledge and design talent and these products are backed up by reliable technical support and after sales services.
