Competancy Courses(DGS Approved)

•	2nd MATE (FOUNDATION) DGS approved Pre sea Certificate OR Proof of 6 Months sea service in the Deck dept. on a merchant Ship possessing 10+2(PCM) certificate with at least 60% in PCM. OR (10+2) PCM + NWKO (NCV) Written

•	2nd MATE NWKO (NCV) 24 month Qualifying sea service+10th Pass

•	2nd MATE (FUNCTION) Pre sea Deck Cadet Course + DLP + 24 months Sea service. OR (10+2) PCM 60% + Pre sea Deck Cadet Course + 36months Sea service OR (10+2)PCM + 36months Sea service + NWKO(NCV) + 2M Foundation certificate

•	1st MATE (FG) PHASE-I 9 m sea service after 2M FG COC

•	1st MATE (FG) PHASE-II 18 m sea service after 2M FG COC + PH I course OR 1st Mate ' 78 COC

•	MASTER (F.G.) ASM PH II + 36 months sea service after 2M FG COC including at least 12m sea service after PH II OR 30m sea service after 2M FG COC if C/O for 12 months

•	MEO CLASS IV C.O.C (New) PART A of MEO II '78 (passed or exempted) OR Part A of MEO Cl IV 95 (passed or exempted) OR MEO IV ' 78(Old) + 6 months sea service including 120 days propelling time after Class IV Part A

•	MEO CLASS II C.O.C (New) MEO IV ' 95 + 12 months sea service. Including 240 days propelling Time OR MEO II '78 (Completed time for appearing in Class I part B (old) )

Pre-Sea Courses
•	PRE-SEA DECK CADETS TRAINING ACADEMIC STANDARDS (AS PER MS NOTICE 24 OF 2003) Pass in HSC/ISC (10 + 2) or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60%. OR B.Sc in Physics, Mathematics or Chemistry with Physics or, Mathematics as individual subjects in one of the year with an average of not less than 55% of marks. OR B.E. or B. Tech degree from a college recognized by AICTE Additionally the candidate should have secured at least 50% marks in English at 10th or 10+2 Exams. MAXIMUM AGE LIMITS On commencement of training: 20 years for HSC/ISC, (10 + 2) 22 years for B.Sc and 24 years for B.E./B.Tech. PHYSICAL STANDARDS As per M.S. (Medical Examination) Rules 2000.

•	DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAM FOR DECK CADETS DLP FOR SSTP FOR DK CDT. PH - I: Successful Completion of DG Approved Pre-Sea Training. DLP FOR SSTP FOR DK CDT. PH - II & III: Satisfactory completion of Stage I / II of DLP

•	PRE-SEA MARINE ENGINEERING TRAINING Graduate level Mechanical Engineers or equivalent having degree from an AICTE approved institution.(% of marks is Company Specific) Age : Company Specific Eye vision: Glasses/contact lenses may be worn but eyesight in each eye separately should not exceed plus/minus 2.5 No colour blindness. Healthy Physique, free from any mental or physical disability, which is likely to interfere with the efficient performance of demanding duties on- board.

•	SHIPS ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT PROGRAM Graduate in Commerce, Economics, Statistics, B.Sc Maths, B.Sc Computers Computer proficient High level skill in spoken and written English language. Maximum age limit : 28 yrs Ability to work with speed and accuracy High level of dependability and responsibility Good physical fitness: Work on board ship is mentally and physically taxing.

Professional Courses (Non DGS)
•	BRIDGE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (BRM) This course is intended for navigating officers/engineering officers at both the management and operational level.

•	BRIDGE TEAM MANAGEMENT (BTM) Minimum 6 months of watch keeping as officer in-charge of a navigational watch and should have completed a course of training in Radar Observation/plotting and preferably ARPA.

•	ENGINE ROOM RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (ERM) This course is intended for engineering officers at both the management and operational level.

•	ENGINE ROOM TEAM MANAGEMENT (ETM) This course is intended for engineering officers at both management and operational level.

•	ISO/ISM 9000 INTERNAL AUDITOR'S COURSE Nothing mentioned

•	OPA 90- VESSEL RESPONSE PLAN The OPA 90 Vessel Response plan course is designed to provide sea-going staff with instructions of the U.S. Oil Pollution Act 1990.

•	RANSCO 2 M FG / MATE (NCV) MUST HOLD ROC + ARPA

•	CHEMICAL TANKER FAMILIARISATION All Seafarers and Prospective Seafarers intending to intending to sail on board chemical tankers

•	OIL TANKER FAMILIARISATION All Seafarers and Prospective Seafarers intending to intending to sail on board oil tankers

•	ROC RADR OBSERVER COURSE NAV OFF, PILOTS, 12 Months Sea time for Candidates with B.Sc. (Nautical) Degree 18 Months Sea time for Candidates with Approved Pre-Sea Deck Cadet Certificate OTHERS having 24 Months Sea time.

•	AUTOMATIC RADAR PLOTTING AIDS (ARPA) ROC Certificate holders

•	MEDICAL CARE 2 M FG OR NWKO (NCV) OR Mate (Fishing)

•	MEDICAL FIRST AID (MFA) EFA + [12 m sea service. OR Pre sea + 6 m sea service]

•	PERSONAL SAFETY AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES All Seafarers and Prospective Seafarers
