The course is designed to provide sea-going staff with instructions and information on the requirements of U.S. Oil Pollution Act 1990, especially 33 CER 155.1030 (General response Plan requirements), 155.1035 (Response plan requirements for manned vessels carrying oil as a primary cargo) and 155.1055 (Training). On completion of the course, participants will have address and items in Appendix 'C' to Part 155, including.
Being able to identify the contents of a VRP.
Being able to notify all participants as required by VRP.
Understanding the arrangements for emergency towing.
Identifying the operational capabilities of OSRO.
Being able to provide procedure for preventing the threat of discharge from operational of emergency causes.
Being familiar with idea of an area contingency plan.
Being aware of the responsibilities and Authorities of VRP.
Understanding the importance of cargo information and handling procedures. |
