Duration of the Course: 4 Months
 
Courses Intake: 40 trainees per batch
 
Entry Standards
 

Pre Sea Deck Cadet Course + DLP + 24 months Sea Service.
or
Pre Sea Deck Cadet Course + 36 months Sea service.
or
(10+2) PCM + 36 months Sea service + NWKO(NCV) + 2M Foundation certificate.

Maritime Education & training

Teaching Facilities & Equipments
 
Well - illuminated classrooms are equipped with the essential teaching aids including white-boards, over-head projectors, TV and VCD Player.
 
Special Features
 
The course provides proficiency at Management Level in the following:

Navigational Aids including compass.

Bridge Watchkeep, Ship handling & Emergencies

Naval Architecture Paper II

Maritime Legislation

Orals for Navigation & Ship Operation functions
 
The examination for this course is conducted by Mercantile Marine Department (MMD) at Mumbai, Chennai and Calcutta and the certificate of competency is awarded to only those candidates who have successfully qualified in the following:

Sea Service requirements

Passed written examination for Phase I & II

Completed all relevant STCW courses

Passed orals.

The candidates are required to book their examination seats well in advance at the MMD Examination centers (MUMBAI/CHENNAI/CALCUTTA) .
