ARI received the prestigious ‘Innovation in Shipping' award at second annual Dubai International Maritime Awards (DIMA) 2005, organized by Seatrade in December 2005. ARI's Cargo Handling Simulators Suite was appreciated for its originality, imagination & perceived practicality and awarded for its potential to significantly improve efficiency of cargo handling. Rear Admiral Efthimios Mitropoulos, Secretary-General, IMO was the Chairman of the panel of judges and he presented the awards at a grand ceremony in Dubai on 12th December 2005.

For its outstanding performance and contribution to Maritime Training and Development, ARI received The Lloyd’s List Middle East-Indian Subcontinent Award 2005. This award was for a training establishment, company, foundation or individual in the Middle East/ Indian Subcontinent that has demonstrated commitment to all-important area of Maritime Training. ARI was presented this award at a glittering ceremony in Dubai on 16th November 2005.

Varuna award is the most prestigious award in Indian Maritime Sector and presented by Government of India on every National Maritime Day. Captain SSS Rewari was awarded the Varuna Award(Posthumously) on 5th April, 2004  in recognition for his sustained and outstanding contribution to Maritime Training in India.

ARI was awarded the Sailor Today Seafarers Award for “Innovation in Maritime Education and Training” in 2004. Particular emphasis was drawn to the “Dahej Pilot Training Simulator Program” conducted at ARI.

Mrs. A Rewari was awarded the Sailor Today Award for Parallel Training in Maritime Education and Training in 2001 in recognition for her contribution to successful integration of behavioral sciences in Maritime Education.
